CAREER DEVELOPMENT
The Heyman Center faculty and administration are dedicated to helping you make your professional
dreams a reality. One of your main resources for planning and developing a career in fundraising
and philanthropy is the School’s Office of Career Management. Through workshops, seminars, and
career advising, our counselors guide you and provide you with professional support. And when the
time comes, they will also help you take your new skills to potential employers and find a
fundraising position that matches your talents and goals. With the assistance of our staff, you
create a concrete job-search plan, write and effective résumé and a cover letter that shines, and
update your interviewing and negotiating skills—all necessary elements to becoming a leader in your
field.
In addition, the Center invites all graduate students, free of charge, to take the continuing
education seminar
Career Tracks in Fundraising and Philanthropy, taught by current recruitment specialists
in the fundraising field. In addition to the two sessions of the seminar, you receive two half-hour
coaching sessions to discuss your particular goals.
