The need for highly trained, creative, and thoughtful professionals in fundraising and grantmaking for the nonprofit sector has never been greater. In response, the Heyman Center has expanded its master's program to offer advanced opportunities for professional growth and training in fundraising and grantmaking. The M.S. degree provides an opportunity for current and aspiring fundraising professionals, foundation staff members and individual donors to hone their skills in New York City, one of the world’s most vibrant philanthropic communities. Through a timely curriculum of scholarly and practical coursework, students explore the history, philosophy, and fundamentals of fundraising, strategies for effective giving, grant evaluation, legal and ethical issues, and more.
The Heyman Center’s program responds to an urgent need for well-rounded professionals in the U.S. and globally. Through class assignments, research experience, and a final project, you learn from our faculty of distinguished leaders in the field. The Center further enriches your studies with notable guest lecturers from the business world and private foundations who share their valuable expertise and are available to give advice on career paths and opportunities.
