HEYMAN CENTER STUDENT ACTIVITIES
As a student, you are regularly invited to attend conferences and events sponsored by the Heyman Center. Lunchtime Conversations feature professionals in the field of fundraising sharing their expertise in the field. These are free and open to the public. Recent conferences included the Global Conference on Fundraising for Higher Education, a one-day conference on women and philanthropy led by several high-profile speakers, and a fundraising workshop for community organizations. Additionally, the Heyman Center sponsors a series of seminars called The Well-Rounded Fundraiser/Philanthropist. Recent topics included Politics, Language, and Leadership: Why Words Matter; The Health Care Crisis in America; and a private tour of NYU’s renowned Grey Art Gallery for a discussion of contemporary art.

The NYU Heyman Center is actively involved with many professional associations, such as the Global Network, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Council on Foundations, and Women in Development. Membership in these organizations provides yet another means of connection to the professional community, access to events beyond New York City, and discounted admission to conferences across the country.

Check the News and Events for upcoming events.

NYU UNIVERSITY-WIDE STUDENT CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
In addition to the broad range of industry professionals and guest speakers you meet in the classroom, you may also choose to participate in any of NYU’s 350 clubs and associations as your primary venues for student involvement, career networking, and meeting classmates with similar goals, interests, and hobbies. Even as a part-time graduate student, you are encouraged to participate in student governance, graduate student organizations, and special-interest clubs. As an active graduate student, you are invited to an extraordinary array of events and opportunities to expand yourself both intellectually and professionally. You may participate in school-wide or program-specific forums, seminars, and conferences offered by the School, as well as by other NYU schools and colleges and their affiliated professional associations. These types of activities add greatly to your student experience and enhance your networking opportunities.
