Fundraising has become an increasingly important part of the American economy. There are now more than 1.8 million nonprofit organizations in the United States. All require fundraisers. The May 19, 2007, issue of U.S. News & World Report indicated that fundraising is a “hot career” with a median salary of about $79,000 annually. Fundraising is an excellent opportunity to make the world a better place through jobs that provide self-fulfillment.
