Craig Newmark on the Web, Nonprofits, and "Doing Good"

On October 23rd at New York University, Craig Newmark, founder of Craigslist.org, which in 10 years has evolved into a free marketplace that today caters to millions of people around the world. Newmark shared the secrets of his success and his thoughts on how his principles might be best applied to small nonprofit organizations that wish to utilize the Internet to grow and attain their goals.

This special seminar, Website Advice From Craig Newmark, was hosted by the George H. Heyman Center for Philanthropy and Fundraising at NYU's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, part of their series of periodic events bringing interesting thought leaders from various industries to speak on current and new trends that affect the world of philanthropy.

Additionally, Newmark discussed how to attract more traffic to a nonprofit's website and techniques for increasing the number and size of online contributions.
