EXECUTIVE CERTIFICATE IN FUNDRAISING AND GRANTMAKING
Experienced practitioners continually need to upgrade their skills to support their organizations effectively, especially as resources decline and new, creative approaches to both fundraising and grantmaking are developed. The Heyman Center¿s Executive Certificate offers a comprehensive program of specialized courses for executives with at least five years of experience in either fundraising or grantmaking. The program is sophisticated and demanding, with the expectation that students are prepared to pursue substantial independent work.
The Executive Certificate program is comprised of six courses, offered over two semesters: three in the spring and three the following summer. The three courses in the spring meet on six Saturdays, every other week, for two hours each. The three offered the following summer meet daily for one week, Monday through Saturday. Of the six courses in the program, two focus on fundraising, two on grantmaking, two include material pertaining to both fields, and an optional elective focuses on Planned Giving and Estate Planning.
