M.S. in Public Relations
and Corporate Communication

FACULTY AND ADMINISTRATION

Our faculty members are among the finest in academia—distinguished and expert practitioners in public relations and corporate communication. The professors you meet in the classroom include senior executives at preeminent global public relations firms and leading corporations responsible for crisis and issue management, corporate branding, media relations, event promotion, professional development, business-to-business communication, and corporate reputation management. They have firsthand experience writing speeches, byline articles, opinion pieces, newsletters, white papers, press kits, brochures, and direct mail pieces for senior executives from corporations and nonprofit or government agencies. Many serve as public relations advisors and counsel corporations, security firms, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and PR agencies.

Our faculty teach not only what they do but also what they plan to do. They share their insider’s viewpoints and challenge your critical thinking and decision-making abilities. You learn how to anticipate and brainstorm innovative solutions to complex, contemporary problems from the best in the business. Your professors regularly bring to the classroom their unique experiences in public relations and corporate communication, nationally and internationally. They deliver rigorous academic programs that include case studies, special assignments, and industry-specific projects that all have real-world relevance with practical applications. As business leaders, they provide a top-down management perspective, in addition to a real-world look at day-to-day challenges.

You will find that interaction with the faculty does not end in the classroom. As innovators with an active role in the professional community, they share their expertise through advisement, mentoring, conferences, and professional networking. Their experience spans the breadth of public relations and corporate communication. They have occupied senior management positions ranging from vice president of corporate communication, to director of marketing communication, to senior consultant in public and professional relations, in such companies as AOL Time Warner, Avaya, Edelman Worldwide Public Relations, Hill and Knowlton, CNBC, Burston-Marsteller, McGraw Hill, Pfizer Inc., Merck & Co., and the National Investor Relations Group.
