Student, M.S. in Publishing
"My professors readily offer up their rolodexes with, literally, the need-to-know names of the city."
I wanted a unique program at a prestigious university, where I would have access to publishing industry leaders. I came to NYU right after college and as a reporter for Forbes magazine’s “ Forbes 400” Rich List. The M.S. in Publishing has integrated complex and dynamic components into my understanding of the evolving publishing industry. It’s a business school training tailored to publishing.
My professors readily offer up their rolodexes with, literally, the need-to-know names of the city. Every class has featured guest speakers from the publishing world, and my program has enabled me to tour Newsweek, where we sat in on a senior editorial meeting and met with the editors afterwards. My experience at NYU has been very positive. Students are treated like industry professionals and the class sessions simulate a real working environment. It’s a dynamic program because it can be completed full or part-time. I’m planning to go to law school after I graduate and this program has given me the advanced marketing skills and industry networking I need to move ahead.
