"From my perspective in publishing, New York City is the hub—it’s the place to be."
NYU has had an incredible impact on my career and long-term goals. This past year and a half has affected everything, from my outstanding curriculum to the diverse and friendly peer group I’ve become part of. My peers range in ages, backgrounds, and birthplaces, which had made it an ideal learning atmosphere.
I think the major advantage at NYU, however, is the school’s prime location and its well-respected reputation. New York City is the publishing hub–it’s the place to be whether you’re looking to explore a professional outlet or a social one–and I’m right here, in the center of it all. Then you have this amazing faculty. All of my professors are adjuncts, so not only are they leaders in their particular industry but they’re bringing real-life scenarios into the classroom every evening. Having professionals as instructors also makes for limitless networking possibilities. They also seem understand the time constraints we have as graduate students, given that most of us have jobs or internships, and flexibility is worked into the program.
