In the next five years, it is projected that the demand for qualified construction project managers will reach an all-time high. The Master of Science in Construction Management provides you with the fundamentals of both project and business management. You obtain the requisite technical expertise and financial knowledge, as well as the entrepreneurial and organizational skills to run a construction project or company.
Students learn how to effectively manage the components of a construction project, including estimating, cost control, project planning and scheduling, negotiation, and labor relations. Your studies explore the various types of contractual relationships governing the owner, the contractor, the designers, and the subcontractors of a project. Bidding, negotiating, handling disputes and claims, devising and implementing strategic business plans, and an understanding of real estate development round out your study.
Through counsel from advisory board members, faculty, and colleagues, the curriculum is continually evaluated against current best practices and the highest standards to give you immediate access to knowledge and skills that address the current issues and developments in the industry.
