NYU Schack Institute Clinical Associate Professor Gerald M. Levy has been elected a national vice chair of the Counselors of Real Estate (CRE), an elite international organization of approximately 1,100 top-level industry professionals from around the globe. His portfolio includes oversight of the CRE agenda dealing with dispute resolution, communications, pro bono consulting for nonprofits, and publications, as well as tax, regulatory, and legislative issues.
Professor Levy teaches negotiation and dispute resolution at the Schack Institute to master’s degree candidates in real estate and construction management. “It is a great joy to teach and advise NYU graduate students in this, the early springtime of their lives when all things are possible,” Levy says.
Professor Levy is a widely recognized authority in the industry. He has authored and edited writings for the American Arbitration Association, the Urban Land Institute, and the American Bar Association, and has lectured at Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Wharton, Columbia, Dartmouth, and University of Virginia business schools, as well as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Before coming to NYU in 2001, Levy’s posts included managing director of real estate finance at Chase Manhattan Bank and senior vice president and general manager of real estate and corporate services at Chemical Bank.
