CERTIFICATE IN CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATING

This program offers hands-on training for those interested in becoming an estimator in construction or real estate development.

Upon completion of the program, students are equipped with the following skills:

  • Knowledge of how to read and understand construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Familiarity with the estimating procedures and practices to develop the estimate and final bid price of a construction project.
  • Budgeting and design review.
  • Preliminary and detailed estimating.
  • Bonds and insurance.

This certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete four courses--three required and one elective.

Note: The Certificate in Construction Cost Estimating is no longer being offered to new students. Current certificate students have four years to complete the certificate according to the requirements in the NYU-SCPS Bulletin the semester they began.
