CERTIFICATE IN CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY
This program covers building construction technology and includes topics ranging from building core and shell, interiors and mechanical, and electrical and plumbing systems according to building codes and construction drawings.
Upon completion of the program, students have covered:
- Construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Building code considerations and standards.
- Construction project logistics and site work.
- Building foundation types and structural systems.
- Concrete and steel frame construction.
- Exterior wall and roof systems.
- Interior walls, partitions, floors, ceilings, and finishes.
- Building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Sustainability considerations in design and construction.
- Building Information Modeling and Computer-Aided Design.
This certificate is awarded to students who successfully complete six courses--five required and one elective.
