MESSAGE FROM THE DIVISIONAL DEAN
In our first decade, the Preston Robert Tisch Center for Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports
Management established new realities for hospitality, tourism, and sports management higher
education and developed a world-class curriculum for two bachelor’s degree programs, three master’s
degree programs, and three graduate-level certificate programs.
In recognition of our location in the financial, sports, and hotel capital of the world,
coursework is concentrated in the areas of revenue management, financial analysis, destination
management, product development, strategic marketing systems, and customer relationship management.
At this early stage, our legacy lies in our commitment to a progressive curriculum, cultivating
extensive industry connections that engage students and faculty on a consistent and meaningful
basis, conducting industry research that is useful and timely, combining theory with practice
through our teaching centers, and creating a community of student entrepreneurs.
There is no better place to earn a degree in hospitality, tourism, or sports management than New
York University. As the premier location for the study of the business of sports, hotels, and
tourism, the city is the laboratory where our students learn, work, and network with successful
professionals in the classroom and boardroom. By constantly blending knowledge, experience, and
professionalism, our students are prepared to be leaders in their chosen professions.
Sincerely,
Lalia Rach, B.S., M.B.A., Ed.D.
divisional dean, clinical professor, and HVS International Chair,
