The Graduate Certificate in Hospitality Industry Studies accommodates the needs of two kinds of
students. First, there are those who have earned a bachelor’s degree and wish to obtain a
foundation for a career in hospitality without yet committing to a master’s program. Others already
hold graduate degrees but seek education in a new career area or specialization within the
industry.
To earn a graduate certificate, students may take any of the four
concentrations within the Master’s in Hospitality Industry Studies, or any five
courses in the program with the approval of the program director. Courses in the graduate
certificate program may be used to satisfy some course requirements for the master’s. When enrolled
in the graduate certificate, you may apply to the Master of Science in Hospitality Industry
Studies, and the majority of students transfer into the degree program.
