M.S. in Sports Business

CONCENTRATIONS

Once you have gained the fundamentals through the core curriculum, you select a concentration from one of two specialized areas: Marketing and Media and Finance and Development.

Upon approval from an advisor, you may substitute up to two courses from the M.S. in Hospitality Industry Studies or the M.S. in Tourism and Travel Management for two courses from either of the concentrations.

Marketing and Media
In this five-course concentration, you examine consumer markets, the use of advertising to influence consumer choices, the role of technology in data marketing methods, the challenges of creating sponsorships, and the successful packaging of entertainment and sports events.

Finance and Development
This concentration is designed to provide an in-depth look into the world of sports finance, facility development, and investment. You gain experience in accounting as it applies to the industry, the estimation of revenue and expenses for sports facility projects, and the development process for specific infrastructures and sources of funding.
