Scholarship Winners
Danielle Shapiro was named the 2008 International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) Doris Sklar Scholarship recipient. Shapiro is a graduate student majoring in Hospitality Industry Studies. The award honors Doris Sklar for her contributions to the meeting and conference industry as a long-standing adjunct faculty member in the Meeting and Conference certificate program at the Tisch Center.
Ken Eisman received the 2007-08 Preston Robert Tisch Memorial Scholarship. Eisman is an undergraduate student majoring in Sports Management and Leisure Studies. This scholarship honors the Center’s namesake, an exemplary role model for hospitality, tourism, and sports business students. The annual scholarship recognizes extraordinary academic merit, and service to the industry and community among the student body.
Mark Weinstein is the first recipient of the Roger and Margaret Lotz Scholarship. Weinstein is an undergraduate student majoring in Sports Management and Leisure Studies. Established by NYU Tisch Center alumnus Hadley Fisher to honor his grandparents, the scholarship is for undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in the fields of hospitality, tourism, or sports business.
Three students were named winners of the 2008 NYC & Company Foundation Scholarship. They are Jennifer S. Kim, an undergraduate majoring in Hotel and Tourism Management, and graduate students Natalie Hernandez and Carianne Carleo-Evangelist, both majoring in Tourism and Travel Management.
