I come from a small town in Iowa with limited opportunities for personal and professional growth. The hotel industry has been my family business for a quarter century and I knew from an early age that I wanted to be a leader in the field. I also knew that NYU offered the resources to meet this goal. Being in New York City makes it possible to draw influential speakers into the classroom and acclaimed lecture series. In this respect, the school has also given me unparalleled access to hospitality leaders and resources.

I’m in the second year in the masters program in Hospitality Industries and I’ve had the most amazing, unrivaled networking opportunities through both classmates and through a faculty who are real leaders in industry, whose accomplishments are remarkable. I’m continually impressed by my instructor’s passion and knowledge about the hospitality industry, and their enthusiasm to engage in my life beyond the classroom. My classes are held at the Midtown Center, which is close to where I work and the evening classes fit in perfectly with my work schedule. NYU has a remarkable reputation for building successful business leaders and giving students a real advantage in the competitive job market.
