B.S. in Hotel and Tourism Managment

CURRICULUM

The Tisch Center's B.S. in Hotel and Tourism Management program offers a comprehensive curriculum that develops skills in areas such as destination marketing, management, and finance. You take a sequence of business courses to complete the major and choose a concentration from one of five specialized areas. You round out your program by selecting electives from an evolving list of course offerings or by completing an independent study under the guidance of a faculty mentor on a relevant industry topic of your choice.

LIBERAL ARTS CORE COURSES
Almost half of the B.S. in Hotel and Tourism Management curriculum includes courses in the liberal arts and sciences. The Morse Academic Plan (MAP) serves as your core academic experience. Typically, this sequence includes courses designed to heighten cultural awareness, sharpen critical reading and writing skills, and encourage creative and logical thinking.

CONCENTRATIONS
Once you complete your core course work, you choose to specialize in one of these five concentrated areas of study: Conference and Event Management, Lodging Development, Lodging Food and Beverage Operations, Lodging Operations, or Tourism Planning.

ELECTIVES
Elective courses in business, including direct marketing, database management, casino operations, private club and resort management, among many others, will complete your undergraduate program in hotel and tourism management.

INTERNSHIP
First-hand experience in the professional world through our internship program allows you to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to a true business environment.
