B.S in Sports Management and Leisure Studies

CURRICULUM

In the B.S. in Sports Management and Leisure Studies program, you learn the business of sports and the management of sporting events and athletic facilities. Your core courses help you develop skills in management, merchandising, marketing, and promotions. To complete the major, you choose a concentration from one of three specialties and take elective courses from a variety of offerings that cover areas such as customer service, leadership and supervision, and communications.

LIBERAL ARTS CORE COURSES
Almost half of the Tisch Center’s curriculum includes courses in the liberal arts and sciences. The Morse Academic Plan (MAP) serves as your core academic experience. Typically, this sequence includes courses designed to heighten cultural awareness, sharpen critical reading and writing skills, and encourage creative and logical thinking.

CONCENTRATIONS
Once you complete your core course work, you choose to specialize in one of three concentrated areas of study: Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Sports Business Development, or Sports Facility Management.

ELECTIVES
Elective courses in business, including event management, communication, advertising, tourism, among others, complete your undergraduate program.

INTERNSHIP
First-hand experience in the professional world through our internship program allows you to apply what you’ve learned in the classroom to a real business environment.
