Anthony Webster

Anthony Webster, Chair and Clinical Associate Professor

Anthony Webster is chair of the BS in Real Estate and clinical associate professor within the NYUSPS Schack Institute of Real Estate.  He teaches Introduction to Accounting, Real Estate Finance, and Real Estate Financial Modeling.

Prior to joining NYUSPS in 2015, Professor Webster was a full-time lecturer in finance at the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science, where he taught Introduction to Accounting and Finance, Real Estate Finance, and Decision Models and Applications. From 2010 to 2014, Columbia's students awarded him their highest accolade—"Golden Nugget Professor" status—on their instructor-evaluation website (CULPA.info). He has also taught decision models in the Berkeley/Columbia University joint MBA program and business finance, accounting, and statistics at Sichuan University and Xi'an Jiaotong University in China.

Professor Webster is the author of two textbooks: Introduction to Accounting and Introduction to Business Finance. He has also written books on technology and construction economics, published extensively in leading technology journals, and served on the boards of high-growth companies and leading technical publications. In 2002, Professor Webster founded West End Advisors, a financial advisory firm that provides consulting services to real estate entrepreneurs and investors. 

Professor Webster holds an MBA from the Columbia University Business School, an MS in Engineering Mechanics from Columbia University’s Engineering School, and a BS in Applied Science in Engineering from Rutgers University (summa cum laude). 

Mary Ann Hallenborg

Mary Ann Hallenborg, JD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Real Estate

Mary Ann Hallenborg is a clinical assistant professor of Real Estate at the NYU School of Professional Studies, and teaches students in the BS in Real Estate program at the Schack Institute of Real Estate and the Paul McGhee Division. She formerly served as an assistant teaching professor at Drexel University. She earned a juris doctor from St. John's University School of Law and a bachelor of science from Rutgers University.     

Professor Hallenborg has practiced real estate and construction law in New Jersey and New York for over 20 years, representing real estate developers, landlords, and public contractors before a variety of tribunals. She also is an experienced civil litigation mediator. She has published books, authored chapters, and written numerous articles on real estate topics, and has served as a source on real estate issues for The New York Times, the New York Daily News, and other media outlets. She currently serves on the board of the American Creativity Association.
