This course examines management techniques for planning, coordinating, controlling and evaluating complex Public Works Projects. Topics include: codes, cost estimating, local and state municipal bonding and labor requirements, scheduling and phased construction, complexities of working with many and diverse Stakeholders,approval process, working within the confines of existing infrastructure activities, environmental and other critical impact reports, equipment purchasing and the development of special and unique pieces of equipment, safety for the workers and the public. It reviews the impact on the latest stimulus package that has been approved by the U.S. Government on new project that may be initiated.
