SPRING 2012
Continuing Education:
Foreign Languages, Translation, and Interpreting
Following in the footsteps of Samuel Beckett, Atiq Rahimi, Kim Thuy, Wei Wei, and Milan Kundera, find a true voice in written French. Through learning to write in another language, the student not only deepens knowledge of that language, but also allows creative writing skills to blossom in both the student's native language and in French. Using newspaper articles, excerpts from literature, objects, and soundtracks, strengthen and develop competence in written expression in the most playful way. Special emphasis is placed on lexical nuances, grammatical structures, and stylistic variations as developed by masters as Georges Perec. Course content changes every semester.
For advanced/intermediate- and advanced-level students.Counts as one course toward the certificate.
