This craft-oriented course gives both experienced and inexperienced translators the opportunity to get acquainted with and solve the problems that translators encounter. While working on literary excerpts and press articles, you become aware of the subtleties of the French language and the difficulties of transposing from English to French. Translating into French helps you increase your vocabulary, polish your grammar, improve your oral and written proficiency, and heighten your sensibility to the English language. The course is conducted in French. Course content changes every semester. This course is appropriate for students at the intermediate/advanced and advanced level.
This course is applicable to the Certificate in French language, but not to the Certificate in Translation.
