Continuing Education: Global Affairs

Examine the critical issues facing global affairs from a political-economic context. Explore the current issues of our changing world, accelerated by the interdependence upon, and conflicts caused by, globalization. Topics include the vanishing "North-South" dynamics of the post-WWII economic order; the impact trade protectionism and resource geopolitics has on new global governance and nations' ability to address crises in finance, energy, climate change, population growth, health, economic disparities, and terrorism; the basics of international markets for goods and services, labor, finance, knowledge and technology; and the roles of multinational enterprises, banks, NGOs, governments, and multilateral institutions in international relations. Section 5 is offered in an asynchronous online format.

Required for the Certificate in Global Affairs.
