Continuing Education: Foreign Languages, Translation, and Interpreting

This course addresses the role and function of the court interpreter, including ethical issues, the identification of reference materials, preparation of glossaries, translation theories and approaches, sight translation, note-taking skills, consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting, translation for interpreters, tape transcription, and other topics.

This is a prerequisite for all other courses in the Certificate in Court Interpreting. Students must pass the admission test before registering. Online registration not available.
