Senior managers often spend more than 50 percent of their time at meetings. Despite claims that technology can reduce the need for meetings and improve their effectiveness, meeting frequently take too long and can be unproductive. Explore the techniques used by professional facilitators to create high-value meetings that can increase team commitment, improve and speed-up decision-making, and develop more productive and satisfying working relationships. Examine factors of successful meetings through practice of strategies taken from emotional intelligence, group dynamics, facilitation, and presentation. Experience three distinct types of meetings--the town hall, executive debrief, and staff meeting--and deconstruct the elements of each.
