Continuing Education:
Film, Video and Broadcasting
Have you ever wondered where film ideas come from? For major studios, the development department is a key component to which they devote a large portion of their organizational structure. Whether you are working on a feature-length script, a three-page treatment, or just need inspiration to get going, this workshop helps you scan the cultural landscape for material that can become a script. Learn how to gain the rights and clearances to such material, and get insight into the collaboration process. After compiling a roster of potential story ideas, students receive guidance on selecting one to develop that can be realized within the scope of the course.
