Ethics, Crisis Communication Strategy Execution and Evaluation

Continuing Education: Marketing, Advertising, and Public Relations

Companies that take a proactive approach to crisis management can act immediately and reduce negative impact in the event of an unforeseen crisis. Learn how to recognize red flags, create and manage a team and strategy, prepare tools of communication during a crisis, train spokespersons, and identify opportunities to communicate messages properly and to the correct media. Examine how crises differ from organization to organization and learn strategies for keeping the crisis plan current and the crisis team involved. Students practice their skills in one-on-one interviews, a mock press conference, and television and radio interviews.

Students must have a good working knowledge of public relations basics and be in a decision-making position within an organization.
