How to View and Talk About Movies Like a Critic

R34.1013 / Continuing Education / $125
FALL 2008

Ever walk away from a movie with extremely strong feelings, but you are not quite sure why? While movie-going is a subjective experience, knowledgeable critics understand the well-established criteria that can be applied when analyzing a film's merit. In two sessions, learn how to evaluate the narrative structure of a film objectively. View a wide range of films and dissect the writing, cinematography, and directing to determine what makes them effective or ineffective.
