Emergency, Backup, and Standby Power Systems for Commercial Buildings

Examine the engineering and design parameters associated with the selection and application of utility, generator, and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) power sources for commercial buildings. One-line and riser diagrams depicting the various configurations of power systems are used to describe the application of alternative power sources. Topics include a focus on 600 volt or less, single, and three phase systems; the classification of various types of electrical devices; power requirements; automatic and remote operation; over-current and short circuit protection; and allocations for future expansion. This seminar is useful for engineering and construction management professionals as well as owners, real estate professionals, and architects.
