Examine the latest developments in architectural design standards for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with a focus on the preservation of the built environment and sustainable design. Topics include building envelope thermal behavior, HVAC classification systems, moisture impact on building performance, and energy issues for the 21st century. Case study discussions include the Woolworth Building, Lucy the Margate Elephant, and the Boston Public Library.
