Architecture, Engineering, and Construction
Learn the history and technology of Portland cement concrete and its precursors, and examine architectural and engineering uses, inspection techniques, causes of deterioration, and current repair methods. Both cast-in-place and pre-cast concrete are reviewed. The course is presented through several case studies, including examples of repairs required to comply with New York City Local Law #11/98, as well as historic concrete structures, such as Fallingwater and the Guggenheim Museum.
AIA/HSW-6 hours. PDH-6 hours.
