Credit: Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management

An explanation of and preparation for Internship I and II. Topics to be covered include: identifying professional skills and interests, writing resumes, preparing cover letters, basic interviewing, searching for an internship, networking skills, writing business letters, and learning business etiquette.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students should be able to:

1. Develop clear and professional resumes.

2. Create professional cover sheets and business letters.

3. Explain the value of networking.

4. Explain the key principles of interviewing for a job.

5. Describe the importance of presenting oneself professionally.

6. Create a list of potential internship sites.

Prerequisites: Sophomore status, Y66.1920 Professional Seminar I
