Credit: Hospitality, Tourism, and Sports Management

An examination of the process of transitioning from college to full-time career positions or graduate school. Topics to be covered include: selecting job opportunities, continuing professional education, balancing personal and professional lives, managing transitions, identifying role models, and managing career and finances. Students will update their resumes and networking databases.

Learning Objectives:
By the end of the course, students should be able to:

1. Understand the role of a first job in a professional career.

2. Identify potential professional mentors.

3. Understand the complexities of blending professional and social environment.

4. Develop a personal budget.

5. Develop a range of career options.

Prerequisites:
Prerequisites: Senior status, Y66.1922 Professional Seminar III
