An examination of the digital frameworks for producing and distributing sports products to consumers on a global scale and the implications of the new sources of revenue on the sports industry. The rise of digital media is changing the traditional business model of sports entities requiring new divisions to advance their economic interests. The topics to be covered include: the nature, origin, and ownership of sports and entertainment products; the structure and scope of fee-based sports distribution models; developing technology that allows sports entities to reach a global audience; fan development across cultures and different technological platforms; and the preparedness of various sports to adapt to the life cycle of new media distribution.
