SPRING 2012
Continuing Education:
Writing and Speech
This intensive workshop is for screenwriters with a first draft who are ready to begin the crucial process of rewriting. Class time is divided between workshopping sections of scripts and lectures on finding and fixing structural problems; bringing characters to life; improving dialogue; strengthening scenes; and more. In-class exercises aid the rewriting process. Students should be prepared to make significant changes in structure, plot, and character as required. After 10 weeks, each student arranges a one-on-one 30-minute session with the instructor.
Bring the course workbook, available at the NYU Bookstore, 726 Broadway, to the first session.
May be substituted for Advanced Class in Screenwriting/WRIT1-CE9626 as a Certificate in Screenwriting requirement.
