Learn about wealth management as it relates to art collectors and how to analyze the clients' financial and personal goals, as well as to the psychological and emotional issues of collecting. Course topics include taxes, charitable giving, philanthropy and wealth preservation, asset allocation, and what it means to consider art as a financial asset--whether borrowing against it or investing in it--all using examples related to fine art. Identify resources to help wealth managers guide art collectors, including appraisals, shipping and insurance, storage, and collections management systems.
Five-session art business elective.
