Learn the pricing and appraising of gold, diamonds, colored stones, and finished jewelry. This course includes hands-on testing to determine the carat of gold, research on pricing and appraisal of diamonds and colored stones; and writing and understanding a jewely proposal. Topics also include the equipment needed to examine and appraise jewelry and necessary research tools. Guest speakers and a gallery trip may be included.
Five-session Appraisal Studies elective. A lab fee of $30 is required for gold testing materials.
