Appraising Estate Jewelry

Continuing Education: Arts Programs

 

Analyze the characteristics of 20th-century jewelry. Learn how to appraise this jewelry and how to identify the complex and powerful styles that were often parallel, overlapping, and affected by each other. Examples of late-Victorian, art nouveau, Edwardian, Arts and Crafts, Vienna Secession, Jugendstil, art deco, 1930s and 1940s, and costume jewelry are discussed.

 

Includes hands-on sessions. Five-session appraisal studies elective.
