Over the years, public relations has helped arts institutions gain visibility for their programs and stimulated communities and corporations to contribute to arts institutions that they deem important. In the years to come, skilled public relations professionals in the arts world are increasingly important in attracting attention in a highly competitive environment. In this course, students learn essential public relations skills relevant to promoting the arts, including rhetoric, persuasion, writing, promotion, and making connections. The course focuses on online public relations, as well as more traditional media.
