FALL 2009
Continuing Education:
Foreign Languages, Translation, and Interpreting
Find your true voice in written French, as have many great writers--from Samuel Beckett to Milan Kundera. By learning to write in another language, you not only deepen your knowledge of the language, but your own creative writing skills blossom in both your native language and in French. Using newspaper articles, excerpts from literature, objects, and sound tracks, strengthen and develop competence in written expression in the most playful way. Special emphasis is placed on lexical nuances, grammatical structures, and stylistic variations as developed by masters such as Raymond Queneau. Course content changes every semester.
Counts toward the certificate. Required textbooks are listed according to course number and are available at Shakespeare and Co., 716 Broadway at Washington Place.
