Spanish Through Cinema

X26.9091 / $290
SPRING 2010
Continuing Education: Foreign Languages, Translation, and Interpreting

Learning Spanish through cinema is a fun and interesting way to understand and connect with the societies, cultures, and history of the Spanish-speaking nations while keeping the focus on learning the language. Films are assigned in advance, and stimulate the students to learn through a structured discussion and research on selected material. Some scenes are analyzed in depth and texts by the directors are read in class or assigned. This short and pleasant journey through cinema improves grammar and expands vocabulary in an effective way.
