This course introduces students to the field of terminology research, focusing on practical uses for translators. We discuss the theoretical framework of concepts and concept theory, terminology theory, terminology management tools, research tools and methods, and the terminology fields most common for translators. We also cover integration of a terminology system with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools. An overview of CAT tools and their uses is included.
