This course addresses the role and function of the court interpreter, including ethical issues, the identification of reference materials, preparation of glossaries, translation theories and approaches, sight translation, note-taking skills, consecutive interpreting, simultaneous interpreting, translation for interpreters, tape transcription, and other topics.
This is a prerequisite for all other courses in the Court Interpreting Certificate Program. Students must pass an admission test to enroll. Online registration is not available for this course.
