Designed to introduce language professionals to the growing importance of computer-assisted translation, this course focuses on translation memory (TM) tools application, from the translator's viewpoint, throughout all phases of a project. Understand the overlying concepts and terminology from which all such applications can be mastered, as well as the how, why, and when of operating TM tools. Get hands-on time with leading translation technology software from Trados(tm) and SDLX(tm) for documentation and presentation translation. Also learn about low-cost alternatives to mainstream tools to suit your professional needs, as well as financial means.
This is a core course.
