Learn the basics of camera controls using a film or digital SLR camera and develop an eye for taking great color photographs. In this class, discuss basic camera function for both film and digital, as well as using both a built-in flash and shoe flash, remote cable releases for night photography, lens types, filters, and new technology. Topic include composition, lighting, and additional aesthetic issues. Students share and discuss their images in a supportive environment. Guest professional photographers show and discuss their work.
Students should bring an SLR camera that can be switched to manual or be prepared to purchase one after consultation with the instructor.
