Comedy Writing for Television

Continuing Education: Writing and Speech

 

If you are a fan of The Colbert Report, Chappelle's Show, Late Show With David Letterman, and SNL, and think you have it in you to write sketches and parodies that will make people laugh, consider this course in the craft of TV comedy writing. Learn techniques for generating ideas and how to write bulletproof jokes. Comedic structure, characterization, and beginnings and endings are discussed. Learn to pitch, outline, write, and revise. The goal of the course is the compilation of a sketch package ready for submission to an agent.
