FALL 2008
Good technical writers, business writers, science writers, and other writers master the art of writing about complicated subjects in a clear and accessible way. Learn to write everything from a how-to article to procedures to a technical report, condensing and translating crucial information into plain English that is easily understandable to most readers. Learn to think like a reader; break through writer's block with fast-writing and vertical note-taking, structure your prose with umbrella sentences and roadmaps, and work with an illustrator.
Students must have a solid foundation in grammar and writing mechanics.
