Writing and Speech
Designed for those with a moderate background in reading andwriting poetry, this course addresses formal poetry as well as free verse; techniques for effective reading, critiquing, and revision of poems; exercises to generate them; and concerns about poetic conventions. Learn to formulate thoughtful and instructive criticism and revise effectively. Be prepared to read and write a lot and to have your work discussed regularly. If you are interested in writing and discussing poems in an atmosphere of support, investigation, and love of the form, this class is for you.
